K.I.S.S.: Keep It Simple, Strategically
At the half-year mark, our focus was again on simplicity.
Thanks to the always-connected world of streaming and social media, our ability to focus is said to have shrunk even below the goldfish standard (with the fish beating us 9 seconds to 8).
📌 Viberate Analytics: Professional music analytics suite at an unbeatable price: $9.90/mo. Charts, talent discovery tools, plus Spotify, TikTok, and other channel-specific analytics of every artist out there.
Of course, these “fun facts” have proven to be completely made up, but the fact remains that nowadays, a lot of people are yearning for more simplicity. We focused on exactly that in June.
🔬 What we focused on:
Avoiding overload
Besides smoothing out our platform’s design and improving its performance, we also made sure to chill out ourselves. Which meant vacations, learning courses, and team building.
This balanced formula seems to be working, as word about us got picked up by the national media. Here we are in the “business success stories” segment (the video’s in Slovenian).
🥋 What we accomplished:
#1 Introduced the HOT filter
Forget about overloading on ways to track trending/breakthrough artists. We’ve created an elegant new feature doing the monitoring for everyone. The “hot” tag filters out the currently trending artists on Viberate charts and shows which channel they’re hot on — Spotify, Beatport or Viberate.
#2 Upgraded Radio Airplay analytics with Charts
Each artist with radio spins is ranked in the Artist airplay chart, which makes talent booking according to local relevance even easier. Did we mention we monitor 24,000 radio stations in 150 countries? Because we totally do.
#3 Found out which Spotify artists made the most of lockdown
Our latest report examined the artists who successfully boosted their Spotify numbers during the 2020–21 global lockdown.
The report focuses on Pop, Hip Hop, Latin, Rock, R&B and Electronic, and presents the top 5 names in each of the genres.
💡 What we learned:
What reads as an inspiring meditation on perspective in life was, in fact, proposed in the marketing department when discussing research parameters. Funny how some ideas can work in completely opposite areas, isn’t it?
