Heaps of great news: in January, we improved our page load time, did some travelling, crunched numbers, and even held an overnight video shoot at our offices.

We got off to a good start this year by updating our platform. Even though our website is already pretty awesome, we keep pushing to unlock its full potential. Our number 1 priority was to improve loading time, so our development and product teams put their heads together again and came up with fantastic results.

Friendlier Discovery Options

In addition to the page loading faster, you can now use the search function while browsing genres, subgenres, and even countries. Display options are now also automatically displayed for all subpages dedicated to artists, venues, festivals, and events. All this is great news for photo enthusiasts, map lovers or Excel list fans, as browsing our platform is now even more effortless and user-friendly. See for yourself:

New Rewards System for Viberate Contributors

The recent upgrade wouldn’t have been possible without all the input and feedback we get from the people who passionately contribute to our platform on a daily basis. Our community of 20k+ contributors continues to grow, so we also tweaked our rewards system and introduced badges, points, and attractive rewards, such as gift cards, event tickets, and Viberate merch.

But above all, our contributors are recognized and have the opportunity to turn their hobby into a full-time job. In case you missed it, here’s the story of our Camilo Bernheim from Nicaragua:

More such stories about the dedicated contributors from different parts of the world will be coming soon.

From London to Belgrade

While the digital revolution has us glued to screens most of our time, good old face-to-face meetings and presentations remain a must when discussing business. Our co-founder Vasja attended the London Music Conference, where he led a workshop on how artists can grow their careers (and we got him back despite Brexit!).

Vasja “behind the decks” at Fabric, London’s most iconic club.

Meanwhile, our sales team flew to Belgrade to check out what’s new on the scene there. The guys definitely got their fair share of music vibes attending the 2019 Music Awards Ceremony, which recognizes achievements in the regional music industry. Here’s a glimpse of the amazingly positive atmosphere at the event.

The opening ceremony of the regional “Grammys” didn’t disappoint.

And upon their return to Ljubljana, they bumped into Djibril Cisse. Who would’ve thought that a former football star is now a professional DJ? Video coming soon!

The former FC Liverpool star — posing with our social media manager Ariana — is now our fan.

Stats Never Lie

Speaking of awards ceremonies, our editorial team was busy crunching the numbers prior to this year’s Grammys. We successfully predicted the “Best Music Video” winner, and we also analysed the nominees in several other categories. Check it out.

The Viberate Team Video Is Coming

Last but not least: you’re probably curious about peeking into our offices and meeting our people. Good news — you’ll see how we roll in our new video, coming soon. Here’s a sneak preview that our art director made …

All in all, a smooth take-off into another extraordinary year.
