I’ve been involved in the music business for more than 10 years, and while being a part of this huge ecosystem has been exceptionally fun and exciting, the industry as a whole has its flaws. People see it as tireless partying with backstage passes, free drinks from the rider and private jets with porn star stewardesses. Sure, for some it may be, but for the majority it’s a job like any other. There is a slim chance of success and you have to work your ass off to at least get close to it. Most of those who try, fail.
One of the more pressing issues is the fact that only an awfully small number of musicians have proper representation — everyone else is left to fend for themselves, struggling to get spotted and land enough gigs. I hope this won’t sound pretentious, but the whole idea of Viberate is to find solutions for precisely these kinds of problems. And our recent launch of booking agency profiles is just one of the many steps towards fixing what’s broken.
Our database currently features about 2,000 booking agencies from around the globe, including all the big names of the industry. Users are now able to see the rosters of musicians that agencies represent and, of course, find all the necessary contact information in one place. We have put a lot of effort into making the interface clean and friendly in order for musicians, managers and event organizers to fully utilize this new tool. It will help them introduce and promote themselves, which can eventually translate into more bookings, while agencies, on the other side, can take advantage of our ever-growing musician database that currently consists of 150,000 profiles. I am confident that new business and partnership opportunities will arise soon.
By launching the booking agency profile database, we’ve just unlocked another achievement. We are happy to see that the market has rewarded us for our hard work with a surge in the daily trading volume of our token.
