The long-awaited summer is finally here, even bringing some promise of live music events. Before I spiral into rants about how much I’ve missed them, without further ado, here’s the May recap.

📌 Viberate Analytics: Professional music analytics suite at an unbeatable price: $9.90/mo. Charts, talent discovery tools, plus Spotify, TikTok, and other channel-specific analytics of every artist out there.

🔬 What we focused on

Creating the music economy the world wants

As this Global News piece suggests (and also highlights us, yay), the old days and ways of music production and consumption are over. It’s time to push towards creating a better, fairer environment with the help of data insights, secure contracts and customized fan interactions.

We’ve already been doing the first part with our powerful data analytics, and now we’re exploring the second two with NFTs.

🥋 What we achieved

#1 Took the NFT project a step further

In April, we successfully launched the world’s first “live gig NFT” with UMEK. As this medium wrote:

We’re now testing how the music community wants to go about NFTs, so we’ve published a page where all interested musicians can apply for their own NFT drop.

#2 Guested at the Winter Music Conference

Vasja and UMEK attended this year’s WMC Virtual, where they showcased our analytics tools and the value of data.

Vasja describes his experience: “WMC Virtual was OK, but now it’s time to get our live conferences back. Business is about personal connections and meeting people in a way that allows us to build trust and relationships, and freely transmit contagions to one another. Conference organizers are already promising hybrid versions in 2022, but I’m positive (no pun intended) that I’ll get my ass on the plane and be there in person. I’ll even clap when the plane lands, because that’s how much I miss traveling. So get your ass vaccinated, because that’s the only way for events to come back in full.”

#3 Introduced Airplay analytics and upgraded Artist Pages

Two very important platform updates went live last month.

With Airplay analytics, you can easily monitor radio spins on 24,000 radio stations in 150 countries to get the most comprehensive and up-to-date analytics out there. Miha V. went into more detail:

We also redesigned the Artist Pages, so that they’re more content-focused and highlight an Artist’s key achievements: most recent videos, most popular posts, etc. We make sure to implement our community’s feedback, so even more new additions will be coming soon.

#4 Delivered a report on the top-performing genres on Instagram, Spotify and YouTube

Urška cracked the numbers to see how popular different music genres were during lockdown, and on which channel they were listened to the most.

She found some interesting stats on the fastest-rising Artists, where in the world they come from, and how different genres performed on each channel.

💡 What we learned:

Whether it was visiting a concert, attending a conference or returning to the office after many months of working from home, one feeling was universal throughout our departments — damn, it’s good to see other people again. This connection is what makes a team or community “real”, so while we’ll still make a Zoom call or two, we’re enjoying each meeting in person that much more.
