In the music industry, as well as in any other, having a well-planned strategy is winning half the battle. To help artists, managers, event organizers, label owners and other music pros make informed, data-driven decisions, we’ve created Viberate analytics.

📌 Viberate Analytics: Professional music analytics suite at an unbeatable price: $9.90/mo. Charts, talent discovery tools, plus Spotify, TikTok, and other channel-specific analytics of every artist out there.

Viberate analytics is an upcoming tool, designed to give music pros relevant insights — starting with insights into the music data of over 450,000 artists worldwide. Its goal is to become the go-to decision-making tool for industry players, as its data and functionalities will help professionals make less risky decisions, and assist in outlining artists’ game plans for growing their careers.

With beta trials kicking off shortly, we took this time to give you an exclusive look into 5 of Viberate analytics’ most promising features.

#1 Unique charts that go beyond Superstar names

There’s more to charts than seeing the same famous names over and over.

Wondering which, say, Australian Tech House acts were the most popular on SoundCloud in the last month? Simply refine your search with the help of filters. You can narrow down your results by “Country”, “Genre”, and “Subgenre”, sort the chart by popularity and channel parameters (Instagram likes, Shazams, SoundCloud plays, Deezer fans etc.), and arrange it according to the desired timeline: last 30 days, last 3 months, last year, or all-time.

The charts can offer insights that are more locally relevant, and allow for in-depth research of an artist’s impact on their (sub)genre.

You will notice that Charts display unique rankings: Viberate popularity. This is the Charts’ default sorting and shows how an artist is performing both online and offline (as objectively as it gets). No other platform has a system like this in place — but let’s leave explaining the details to one of the next blogs.

#2 Get insights into artists’ career health

Monitoring performance across streaming and social networks is only the beginning. Viberate analytics also includes another original indicator, “career health”.

“Career Health” is designed to overview an artist’s performance on their social media and streaming channels, and the “weight” of their network connections. The premise is simple: the more regularly you engage your fans, the more consistent your track plays are, and the more notable industry names follow you, the healthier and better your career is.

To make the resulting picture more relevant, an artist’s career health is only compared with similar artists in the (sub)genre. This means that, say, UMEK’s monthly performance will not be compared to that of Slayer or Marshmello, but rather Carl Cox, Nina Kraviz, and other Techno artists with chart positions similar to UMEK’s.

#3 Learn about artists’ fanbases and possibilities to grow them

Assessing artists by the number of social media followers is a thing of the past. What a successful artist needs is an engaged fanbase, as engagement can potentially be translated into ticket and album sales.

Viberate analytics not only gives a quick (and graphic) overlook of how an artist’s fanbase is distributed throughout their social media and streaming channels, but also how well-engaged these fans are, and what content they react to the most.

This allows for several interesting insights: artists and managers can analyse and compare their own and other artists’ content to get new ideas, while event organizers, labels and other pros can see how influential certain artists are. Proving your fanbase is engaged, involved and potentially eager to come see you play live just might become a tipping point for your future bookings.

#4 See where in the world the artists are being listened to, and what gigs they play

Sure, with the internet, the entire world is a stage — but when it comes to finding the perfect match for your local gig, insights into audience and local relevance are more than valuable. This is why we also included audience maps and overviews, allowing users to research which artists are popular in a certain country and where an artist’s YouTube and Spotify listeners come from.

What’s more, Viberate analytics also makes planning these gigs a little easier, as it displays an overview of an artist’s previous detected gigs, so the info on the average venue sizes and event types they can handle is also already there. Before you ask, yes, we also covered the “portfolio” part by including a list of each artist’s most notable detected events played.

#5 Get new collab ideas by exploring Network respect

Besides checking out artists’ stats and network for content ideas, their connections can also spark ideas for new collaborations. Viberate analytics makes combing through the follower network easier, as it sorts out and highlights the most influential and relevant artist names, tells you who follows whom, and displays which social media channels these connections are happening on.

As a strong, star-studded professional network is usually a sign of peer respectability, new rising stars can also be discovered this way.

Of course, this is just scratching the surface. There’s heaps of data and ideas waiting to be explored, hopefully making the long-awaited return of live music events a bit smoother for everyone.
