“Cancer avengers” you cried out with gusto
Your six year old arm reaches to a high shelf
near the hospital bed
Placing two superheroes above mama
“They will kill cancer! They will fight the bad cells!”
you exclaim.
“See their vicious eyes! And they have red fists and blue fists
and even capes!”
It’s true.
And mama takes a breath to bring energy to her lips
Why of course! It’s way better than radiation
And you, my little one, are way better than anything.
