Как уехать преподавать английский во Вьетнам?🇻🇳
Возможно все заметили что в этот раз я очень долго находилась дома, но естественно я не могла себе позволить остаться здесь на зиму, так что я начала придумывать план как уехать куда-то, где не нужно так жестко хаслить, как в Южной Америке. Сначала я общалась с подругой, которая уехала в Китай преподавать английский, но в этом плане был один гигантский нюанс, который упирался в стоимость рабочей визы – 1000$. Начав искать больше информации чуть позже через знакомых моих друзей, обнаружилось что во Вьетнаме так же английский бум и все срочно хотят его выучить, поэтому там образовалось огромное количество частных языковых школ и высокая востребованность преподавателей.
Первым, что нужно сделать это начать получать Tefl сертификат. Все сайты будут предлагать вам сто часовой курс за 700–900$. Дело в том, что Teaching English for Foreign Learners есть на coursera и обойдется вам в 20$.

Пока вы в процессе получения сертификата, следующим пунктом в подготовке к отъезду является определение в какой город вы хотите ехать. Лучшими вариантами являются Ханой (столица) и Сайгон (Хо Ши Мин), так как это самые крупные города и там легче устроиться. Ханой более традиционный вьетнамский город и там живет больше местных. Сайгон же наоборот – город метрополия, в который съехалось много экспатов. Мне показалось что в азиатской стране мне будет все-таки проще работать в вестернизированном городе ну и наконец самая веская причина для меня – в Ханое полиция ходит по барам уже после 10 вечера, заставляя их закрываться на ранний комендантский час, а в Сайгоне центр никогда не спит, все открыто для туристов. А еще в Сайгоне средняя температура +28, а в Ханое будет похолоднее.
После того как определились с пунктом назначения, следует покупка авиабилета, ведь чем раньше купишь, тем больше ресурсов сбережешь. Самые дешевые вылеты во Вьетнам и Азию в целом – через Москву. Мой авиабилет Москва-Стамбул-Сайгон обошелся мне в 6200грн (240$) + 345 грн. автобус Ecolines Киев-Москва.
Когда билеты на руках и вы знаете дату прибытия, нужно начать оформлять письмо-приглашение на визу во Вьетнам. В этом тоже нет ничего сложного – в фейсбуке тонны вьетнамских туроператоров, которые вам в этом помогут. Вам следует только определиться с типом и длительностью визы, цены варьируются от 20 до 100$. Я делала бизнес мультивизу на 3 месяца, но в итоге оказалось что могла бы обойтись визой попроще. Вы пересылаете деньги вестерном или moneygram, а туроператор оперативно оформит и вышлет вам приглашение в ответ.

Теперь самое время вступать во все группы в фейсбуке, связанные с экспатством во Вьетнаме. В них вы найдёте абсолютно всю информацию: от того где купить настоящий канадский кленовый сироп в Сайгоне до объявлений о жилье и работе. Я сняла комнату в вилле с бассейном и открытой крышей в центральном районе за 300$/месяц, из которых я плачу половину т.к.живу в комнате с другом.

Преподаватель английского во Вьетнаме получает от 15$/час до 23$. Все будет зависеть от уровня знания языка, сертифицирования, опыта работы, акцента и умения себя преподнести.
На данный момент я преподаю взрослым и детям, которые меня очень любят и чуть ли не уписываются от радости чтобы попасть ко мне к доске и не хотят меня отпускать после уроков, заключив в свои объятия.
Аренда мотоцикла на месяц начинается от 35$. Так же тут есть мототакси от Uber и Grab, стоимостью ~40 грн/10км.
Кило манго – 12 грн.
Кило свежих тигровых креветок – 200грн.
Кокос – 10 грн.
В общем я снова обрела свой дзен и жду-недождусь чтобы получше ознакомиться с Азией, ведь это мой первый раз здесь.
How to teach English in Vietnam? 🇻🇳
Maybe everyone noticed that this time I stayed at home for a very long time, but considering my nature I could not stay here for the winter. So I started to plan how to go somewhere where’s no need to hustle as hard as I used to in South America. At first I’ve asked from a friend who went to China to teach English. But there was one gigantic nuance regarding on the cost of working visa — $ 1000. Later I checked for more information through my friends’ acquaintances. I found out that in Vietnam is also an English boom and everyone wants to learn it urgently. That’s why a huge number of private language schools were formed there and teachers are in high demand.
The first thing you need to do is start getting a TEFL certificate. All sites will offer you a 100-hour course for 700–900 $. The fact is that Teaching English as Foreign Language is on Coursera and will cost you $ 20.

While you are in the process of obtaining a certificate, the next step in preparing for departure is to determine which city you want to go to. The best options are Hanoi (capital) and Saigon (Ho Chi Minh), as these are the largest cities and it is easier to settle there. Hanoi is a more traditional Vietnamese city and there more local people live. Saigon on the contrary is a metropolitan city where many expats gathered. It seemed to me that in an Asian country it would still be easier for me to work in a westernized city. And finally the most important reason for me — in Hanoi, the police is going to bars after 10 pm forcing them to close for an early curfew. In Saigon the central area never sleeps, everything is open for tourists. In Saigon the average temperature is +28, and in Hanoi it’s usually significantly colder.
After you have decided on your destination, you should book a ticket because the sooner you buy, the more money you’ll save. The cheapest flights to Vietnam and Asia in general — through Moscow. My airplane ticket Moscow-Istanbul-Saigon costed me 6200 uah (240 $) + 345 UAH for bus Ecolines Kiev-Moscow.
When you’ve done with tickets and you know the arrival dates you’ll need to apply for an invitation letter for a visa to Vietnam. It’s super easy — in Facebook exist a ton of Vietnamese tour operators who will help you with this. You just have to decide on the type and duration of the visa, prices range from $ 20 to $ 100. I did a business multivisa for 3 months, but in the end it turned out that I cope even with a tourist visa. You send money through WesternUnion/Moneygram or PayPal. The tour operator will promptly issue and send you an invitation in return. There should be no scam, Vietnamese are very honest and reliable people.

There you will find absolutely all the information: from where to buy the real Canadian maple syrup in Saigon to the ads about housing and work. I rented a room in a villa with a swimming pool and an open rooftop in the central area for $ 300 / month, of which I pay half cause I shared room with a friend.

English teacher in Vietnam receives from $15/hour to $23. Everything will depend on the level of language proficiency, certification, work experience, accent and ability to present yourself.
At the moment, I teach adults and children who really love me. They always excited to answer me and present themselves in front of whole class next to blackboard. Very often they do not want to let me go after school and embrace me.
Rent a motorcycle for a month starts from $ 35. Uber and Grab mototaxi cost ~ 1,5$/ 10km.
1 Kilo of mangoes — 30–40 cents$.

Coconut — 30cents$.
I found my Zen again and feel genuinely happy here. Can’t wait to explore more of South East Asia as it’s my first time here.
