Collision Conference is the crossroads for the worldwide technology industry. It’s where buyers and sellers gather to share in the latest and greatest of emerging technology. This year’s event was held May 20–23 in Toronto and included over 25,000 attendees from 120 countries. The Live Planet and VideoCoin teams were on hand to demo the Live Planet VR System, to discuss the development of the VideoCoin Network, as well as capture as much stunning VR content as we could with the Live Planet Camera. We had an amazing experience learning and discovering with the gathered collection of startup founders, media, CEOs, and investors.
While at Collision, Halsey Minor discussed the changing video ecosystem at the Enterprise Blockchain panel alongside Matt Spoke, CEO and Founder of Aion Network, Shaul Kfir, CTO at Digital Asset, and Aba Schubert, CEO at Dorae. The discussion focused on how the blockchain is changing the way companies track, record, and share information. When asked how you build new forms of economic design into network effects — to incentivize someone to participate or behave in a certain way — Halsey responded:
“At VideoCoin, we see decentralization as a new computing model. We do the same thing AWS does for Netflix and Hulu, but for much less. Our business model relies on the blockchain’s ability to communicate with and pay underutilized data centers, much like Uber and Airbnb do with cars and homes.” — @HalseyMinor
