Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson Reuniting for Netflix Series (Report)

“That ’70s Show” co-stars Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson are reuniting for a new half-hour comedy series on Netflix.

The series, called “The Ranch,” is nearing a series order from the streaming service, according to Deadline. It comes from co-creators Don Reo and Jim Patterson (who were co-showrunners on “Two and a Half Men,” which Kutcher starred in) and will star Kutcher and Masterson in the lead roles.

Set on a Colorado ranch, “The Ranch” will follow a retired semi-pro football player who returns home to run the family business with his brother.

According to Deadline, Netflix might opt for a slightly different release strategy for the multi-camera comedy series. The streaming service is looking to order 20 half hours, which it will release in two 10-episode batches in 2016. This would be in line with the traditional broadcast model of ordering 20-or-more-episode seasons. (Netflix generally opts for 13-episode seasons across its dramas and comedies, the only exception being a few animated series from DreamWorks Animation.)

If picked up, “The Ranch” is expected to debut on Netflix in 2016. It will be executive produced by Reo and Patterson, with Kutcher and Masterson also producing.
