Bunim/Murray and LaMusica Ink Multi-Title Video Development Deal

Bunim/Murray Productions has steadily been expanding their digital video production output. Now, the production company is set to develop multiple projects for Spanish Broadcasting System’s LaMusica, as the hispanic-focused distributor looks to bulk its own video slate. It’s a strong move for the online and mobile app, which has been providing music-related news and music streaming to its users. The shift to include video follows the recent trend for music-video hybrid streaming destinations like Spotify, Tidal, and YouTube Red.

“In BMP we found a content development partner that clearly understands our vision for LaMusica. This partnership will allow us to accelerate the time to market for our highly differentiated, next-generation release of LaMusica,” Jesus Lara, Executive Vice President, Digital Media Strategy, SBS Inc said in a statement.

Multiple formats aimed at smartphone-using millennial Latinos are set for distribution as early as later this summer and will include music, lifestyle and infotainment short-form content. Bunim/Murray Productions latin division will lead on development.

“We are thrilled to be working with Jesus and his team on this very ambitious project,” said Gabriela Cocco-Sanchez, Vice President, BMP Latin. “Our content focus is centered on optimizing for the mobile experience, and together we will deliver engaging mobile-centric video content that will further differentiate LaMusica from everything else currently available to the Hispanic audience.”

SBS is a Hispanic-owned multi-media company that operates over 17 radio stations in the U.S.
