After a few set backs, Facebook’s original programing is expected to hit the platform in mid-August, reports Bloomberg who sited sources familiar with the matter.

According to the report, the social media giant has been asking its partners to turn in the first episodes of their spotlight shows, most of which are short-form, inexpensive programs. Additionally, Facebook is funding higher-end TV-style shows, which will be launched later on the site, said the sources, who asked not to be identified because the plans aren’t public.

Facebook is also reportedly creating a section, separate from a user’s timeline, that will house a mix of scripted and user-generated content. According to Bloomberg, Facebook is aiming “to make something higher-end than Google’s YouTube, but it’s not competing with video producers such as Netflix, HBO and Showtime.”

Though the company plans to launch the new video section in mid-August, further delays could occur, according to sources.
