Interscope Geffen A&M Teams with Keshet International on Digital Series Intiative

Interscope Geffen A&M is partnering with L.A.-based studio Keshet International on a multi-year deal to develop, produce and distribute music-related original digital scripted and non-scripted video content targeting cord-cutting millennials.

The Santa Monica-based record company, which has a roster of artists that includes Eminem, Lady Gaga and Kendrick Lamar, will jointly distribute the content with Keshet International on (primarily) digital platforms in the U.S., while Keshet handles the global sales.

The first project in development under the deal is “Tracks,” a coming-of-age series following five twenty-somethings who find common ground in live music as they deal with life’s unexpected dramas.

“The development of original digital programming that resonates with the cord-cutting millennial audience is at the core of our strategy, and we see music and partnering with some of the hottest names in the record industry through Interscrope Geffen A&M as a key driver to making that happen,” said Sebastian Burkhardt, SVP digital & acquisitions for Keshet International, in a statement.

Founded in 2012, Keshet International is the global distribution and production arm of Israeli media company Keshet Media Group. Headed by CEO Alon Shtruzman, it has local production outposts in the U.K., the U.S. and Asia.

Keshet’s catalog of programming includes the drama “Prisoners of War,” which was the basis for Showtime’s “Homeland”; the family drama “The A Word,” which was sold to BBC One; the game show “Boom!”; the interactive talent show “Rising Star”; the children’s talent show “Master Class”; the reality dating format “Girlfri3nds”; and the buddy comedy “Traffic Light.”
