Michael Phelps Tops Facebook Live as It Pulls in 139 Million Olympics-Related Views
The Rio Olympics wrapped last Sunday, but it’s still making headlines.
First, it was announced today that swimmer Ryan Lochte — fresh off his gold medal in the 4x20 men’s freestyle relay and a false robbery accusation in Brazil — will be joining Nichelle Nichols (“Star Trek”) and Kevin Sorbo (“Hercules”) as one of the celebrities signing autographs at Wizard World Comic Con in Richmond, Va., on Sept. 10.
More significantly, there is the news that fellow swimmer Michael Phelps’ dominance in the pool in Rio (where he won five gold and one silver medal) has spilled over on to Facebook.
There were 139 million Olympics-related Facebook Live video views during the games, and Phelps was the focus of the two most popular.
