Portal A Inks a Deal with Digital Stars Jay Versace & Miles McKenna to Develop Half Hour Shows

Digital influencers Jay Versace and Miles McKenna are partnering with Portal A, a digital studio best known for producing the annual YouTube Rewind video, to develop half-hour (22-minute) format shows.
Comedian Jay Versace, who has 3 million social followers, will star in “My Wizard and Me,” which takes a trip inside the young star’s imagination as he samples some of L.A.’s most popping spots.
Miles McKenna, the transgender YouTube star formerly known as Amanda McKenna who has 1.5 million followers, will host “We Out Here.” The show will follow McKenna as he travels the country in hopes of connecting with the LGBTQ community.
McKenna is represented by Fullscreen and Jay Versace is represented by Flip Management.
Portal A’s original series to date include “Song Voyage,” a musical comedy created with the Gregory Brothers for Maker Studios, and “The Adventures of Nunchuck Larry,” which it financed and developed, on the Gregory Brothers’ YouTube channel.
Other pilots on the Portal A slate include:
- “Bomb LA”: A series from writer-director Marvin Lemus that follows a Mexican-American comic-book nerd who joins a local graffiti crew
- “Beholder”: Docu-series covering traditionally marginalized and taboo subjects of the beauty world.
- “Nice Tan”: A multicultural, female-led sketch comedy series that takes on identity, political correctness and life.
