The Onion Launches Branded Facebook Series with SNL’s Kenan Thompson

Satirical news site The Onion unveiled the first product of its branded content partnership with Facebook’s premium video advertising program Anthology.

Titled “Help I’m Turning into My Parents!,” the nine-part series features “Saturday Night Live” star Kenan Thompson as self-help talk show host Dr. Jimm. It was produced by The Onion’s creative services division Onion Labs for the “PC Does What” campaign, sponsored by Dell, HP, Intel and Lenovo.

Launched in April, Anthology combines Facebook’s data insights and scale with the distinct voices of various content producers to generate unique targeted videos for brand partners. In addition to The Onion, other creators in the Anthology lineup include Electus Digital, Funny or Die, Oh My Disney, Tastemade, Vice Media and Vox Media.
