Life’s a shit show!
Yesterday, as usual, I headed to my balcony to sigh and scrape the pigeon poop off the floor. Well, inspired, I wrote this!
Morning dawns bright, clear
Strong coffee warms my tummy
Masked, armed, determined
Over the threshold
I step, spatula in hand
ready to scrape clean
Poop carpet from floor
Cussing under my breath now
Resigning myself
Done with one corner
I turn to the other end
To see two fresh eggs
My heart melts a bit
Though angry with the pigeons
Watch those shiny eggs
What a dilemma
I have to displace these now
So I pack them up
Careful not to touch
Carry them to a safe spot
Shade in the backyard
These eggs will hatch soon
Chirpy chicks slowly emerge
Grow, then fly away
