And now — crabs! Crabs are invading in huge numbers in some parts of the world. So far we’ve had whales, dolphins, mussels, lobster, crabs. Mammals, crustaceans, molluscs…

…but no fish. There has to be a significance there.

Furthermore, the weird new species of mussels has been found in a variety of places that aren’t connected to each other. To emphasize how impossible this is, one of them is Lake Victoria!

It’s aliens. One guy thinks it’s the military and talks about UFOs and they’re about to call in the astrophysicist.

We know it’s aliens. Not just because this is SF/horror, but because it’s. Aliens.

But it might also have something to do with the guys strip mining the ocean floor. That can’t end well, now, can it.

This show is very much one long story, not very episodic at all, and this time they eschewed the cliffhanger.

Presumably we’ll find the same substance transforming the ice worms and the mussels in the crabs.

But what is protecting the fish? This can’t be a coincidence, can it.

Maybe the aliens are fish?
