How to Create Stunning Fashion Lookbook Photos with AI
In this post, I’m excited to share with you how to turn your fashion fantasies into images using ‘Fashion Prompts’. To make it easier for you to craft fashion prompts, I’ve also included some prompts for you to follow along with. So let’s get started!
1. Imagining the Fashion Style You Want to Create
What style of fashion do you want to create with AI? It’s better to think of specific and narrow styles like Cottagecore, Grunge, Skater, or Y2K, but broad styles like Vintage, Preppy, or Formal are also fine. However, broader styles can lead to more varied results from the same prompt. If you have a clear style in mind, it’s recommended to be specific.
I will use ‘Avant-Garde Style Dress’ in my prompt.
2. Combining Colors, Materials, and Items to Write a Fashion Prompt
Think of specific keywords that can express your desired style. Combining colors, materials, and items into a detailed prompt helps AI better understand and create the results you want. I’ll create a dress using the color ‘real red’ and ‘silk mixed cotton’ material. For colors, use specific names rather than broad ones like red or yellow. If unsure, you can refer to the X11 color names for inspiration.
Example Prompt
- Colors: black, white, silver, gold, salmon red, real red, peach puff, spring green, aquamarine, champagne gold
- Materials: cotton, silk, polyester, linen, wool, denim, rayon, cashmere, nylon, velvet, leather, suede, satin, chiffon, tweed, jersey
- Clothing: blazer, cardigan, coat, dress, sleeveless top, hoodie, leggings, raincoat, sports jersey, sweater, tracksuit
3. Adding Details to Clothes and Other Fashion Prompts
If you feel something is missing after step 2, add prompts for details on clothes or accessories. The more specific and clear your fashion prompts are, the better AI can understand and create your desired fashion images. I’ve modified my prompt to <real red Avant-Garde Cotton and Silk Mixed Voluminous Dress, Diamond Necklaces and Bracelets>.
Example Prompt
- Details: cutout dress, draping dress, romantic ruffle dress, asymmetrical maxi dress, layered maxi dress, jacquard mini dress, slit maxi dress, with translucent sleeves
- Accessories: ties, cufflinks, handbags, hats, gloves, belts, suspenders, eyewear, wallets, umbrellas, socks, stockings, watches, jewelry (rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelets)
4. adding ‘icing on the cake’ prompts
Finally, add models, backgrounds, lighting, and atmosphere. This completes a professional fashion photoshoot. Even though steps 1–3 can already create beautiful fashion photos, adding these elements emphasizes and beautifies the fashion design.
So, my final prompt is this: fashion magazine style, female model in a hands-on-hips pose, real red avant-garde voluminous silk dress, diamond necklaces and bracelets, wide-brimmed hat, on the road in the wilderness
