Look what the cat just dragged in… Well, quite literally. This be the new Jaguar F-Type, touted as the successor to the classic E-Type. Jaguar’s baby convertible is all set for an international debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, in just a few days from now and looks pretty swell in this leaked image. Autoblog reports getting this image from spy photographer Chris Doane, so all credits to him.

Jaguar had images of the camouflaged F-Type going around for quite a bit but we can see the new-born kitten in all its glory here. The F-Type doesn’t seem to have the simple, seductive silhouette of the E-Type, it rather goes for the blingy, flashy aura of the modern Jags. This, in fact, is a good thing though and will ensure magic numbers in countries like China, India and the likes. It is also remarkably similar to the C-X16 Concept shown at Frankfurt last year. For hardtop lovers, the coupe will follow soon.

The range of powerplants hasn’t been revealed but a greener, more efficient variant of Jaguar’s range-topping supercharged 5.0-litre V8 will figure at the top followed by smaller V6s. The big question remains, will it outgun the Porsche Boxster?
