As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Pompano is offering rent assistance to residents who have suffered a loss of income. The city’s Office of Housing and Urban Improvement is helping residents who are one to three months behind. The monies are dispersed directly to the landlord or owner of the property. The maximum amount allocated per family cannot exceed $4,000. The amount awarded will depend on the persons household size and income relative to the median income.

The COVID-19 emergency rental assistance program is limited to individuals with valid documentation of their loss of a job or financial difficulty due to the pandemic. Applicants must also have proof that they live at the property and are within the terms of their rental agreement. Also, to be eligible for rental assistance, payments must have been current as of March 2020. The assistance will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis.
