The City of Pompano Beach is on its way to open a municipal charter school. The School District approved the Pompano Beach Municipal Charter School for grades K-8 for the 2021–2022 school year. The superintendent needs to sign off on the agreement before the school goes into operation. According to the most recent review, “the application is recommended for approval” as it meets all the minimum requirements for state law. If approved, the school will open their first year as a K-3 and 6 grades public charter school, serving a total of 380 students. The maximum enrollment capacity of the school is 910.
