The City of Pompano Beach continues to hold commission meetings during the COVID-19 pandemic. You can watch the Commission Meeting on Comcast Ch. 78 live and through rebroadcast as well as through live streaming and archive on the City’s website at www.pompanobeachfl.gov. In order to comment on city business, it must be done remotely. Participants must have internet access, an email address, and a telephone. The next meeting will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 1 p.m. At the July 28 meeting, Sheriff Gregory Tony presented a status report to the commission. Sheriff Tony highlighted the efforts the city was making to ensure another George Floyd doesn’t happen in Pompano. Some of the measures include firing personnel, establishing new hiring techniques that help Black people, and a program that encourages cops to park and get out and interact with the community.
