VIMANA has further advanced in its international expansion. The company participated in the Regional Economic Integration Seminar that took place in Moscow on December 9–10, 2019 to deliver a keynote speech and propose new approaches to the region’s transportation system.

The Seminar is a part of an ongoing program to expand trade and economic relations between the Eurasian Economic Unit and the ASEAN countries run under the Eurasian Economic Commission patronage and hosted by the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia.

This year, the Seminar enjoyed attention of over 90 top level representative of the nations involved including the Advisor to The President of Russia and the Member of the Board (Minister) for Integration and Macroeconomics of the EEC Mr. Sergey Glaziev, the Chairman of the Board of the EEC Mr.Tigran Sargsyan and ASEAN Secretary senior representatives.

Speaking at the event, VIMANA’s CEO Evgeni Borisov presented the company’s solutions in vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) autonomous aerial vehicles (AAV) and the UAS Traffic Management Systems (UTM). The VTOL AAV technology presents a viable solution to the region’s logistics and transportation given its geography and growing population that would reduce cost and dramatically increase flexibility of both cargo and human transportation, thus fueling economic development of the ASEAN area, Mr. Borisov stated. VIMANA is currently pursuing multiple opportunities to deploy its solutions in several ASEAN member countries. The Association can serve as a perfect discussion and decision making point for this breakthrough technology.

ASEAN has been a prominent cross-country actor for over five decades supporting various activities between its members that includes Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar and Cambodia. Those countries with a combined GDP of over $2.6 trln and a population of over 600 mn people are VIMANA’s primary target markets, he added.

Indonesia can serve as an example of how VIMANA VTOL AAV can be applicable to address existing transportation bottlenecks and complications. The country consists of a very large number of islands (with a total count of 17,804) including at least 30 major archipelagos. Today, aviation has limited capacity that is insufficient for the country’s needs because many locations have short landing plots or those need maintenance. On-water landing requires marite types of aircrafts that cannot use ground airports.

VIMANA sees a room for several hundred vehicles potentially deployed in Indonesia alone as well as the company’s integrated decentralized navigation and coordination system, accounting and billing, supporting business, R&D and education. The EEC-ASEAN coordination program will help implement those plans via direct communication with state agencies, regulators and legislative bodies.

Indonesia is very fragmented with over 17K islands
