VIMANA strikes an exclusive partnership with Sichuan-based Smart Agritech holding fueling the holding’s domestic market plans

VIMANA was able to progress further in penetrating both residential and cargo, and agricultural sectors during the Mianyang Science and Technology Expo exhibition. The company has established a material partnership with one of the leading agricultural holding of the Sichuan province, Smart Agritech to supply a special agricultural modification of its drones to support Smart Agritech ambitious domestic development plans.

On September 10, VIMANA Global Inc has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Smart Agritech, a part of a Sichuan-based agricultural holding with an annual turnover of over $100mn, on the development and delivery of special modifications of VIMANA AAVs to increase the efficiency of agriculture in China.

Smart Agritech is a provider of smart agricultural products and solutions. This agricultural intelligent technology company was incubated by Qingdao Intelligent Industry Technology Research Institute. Smart Agritech accumulates technical, software and hardware products to support agricultural environmental intelligent monitoring systems, agricultural planting intelligent service platforms, the three-dimensional virtual agriculture and forestry landscape platforms, plant growth modeling, and protected land biodiversity information systems.

VIMANA VTOL AAV have an agricultural modification that can be used for multiple purposes including monitoring of crops, or as a dusting spraying platform to deliver herbicides and fertilizers. It can carry a payload of 150kg, has sprayer span of 10m and is capable of reaching a cruising speed of 72km/h. The technology enables an extreme convenience of navigation with a GPS based system onboard, it maneuvers fast and doesn’t damage crops.

The agreement with Smart Agritech is opening a wide window of opportunities for VIMANA in the agricultural sector of Sichuan and China in general. The province has its GDP at $550bn, and a large part of this comes from agriculture: Sichuan has more than 5.9mn hectares of cultivated land, a favourable climate, and produces a versatile range of agricultural products. The province is one of 13 influential food production bases in China.

VIMANA sees a great potential in agricultural arm of its VTOL AAV technology and will seek further opportunities to expand in the sector, both in China and other global markets. Aerial farm and crop management represents the next step of land development and food production further strengthening economics in of the agricultural business worldwide.
