Limited Edition Devotion Oathsworns VIM Mission Event! Introducing Erlang Shen, the War God and his faithful Howling Celestial Hound!

The long awaited Devotion Oathsworn VIM series is finally here. Following the previous members (Hachi and Borf) introduced in this clan, we are excited to unveil the third limited VIM in this series!

Erlang Shen, the Illustrious Sage and his faithful Howling Celestial Hound from the Journey to the West Collection is joining the Devotion Oathsworns clan.

A limited edition VIM, Erlang Shen can be called forth from the Patron Goddess of the Devotion Oathsworns Clan, Alanna for free by fulfilling any of the following, non-mutually exclusive mission requirements in the next 10 days:

Erlang Shen Joins The Devotion Oathsworns Clan and Journey to the West Collection

Erlang Shen (二郎神 — “Second Son God”) is a popular figure in Chinese and Asian mythology. Wielder of the Truth Seeking Eye and his Divine Weapon Three-Pointed Double-Edged Trident Spear, he is depicted as a powerful warrior deity serving the Jade Emperor’s Palace that embodies traits of loyalty, devotion and filial piety. He is also the nephew of the Jade Emperor.

In every form of literature and lore, Erlang Shen is accompanied by his faithful Xiaotian quan (嘯天犬 — “Howling Celestial Hound”), which helps him subdue evil spirits and battle during combat against demons and other adversaries.

Erlang Shen and the Howling Celestial Hound is famously known in the Journey to the West story for playing a crucial role in stopping the Monkey King’s havoc in Heaven. His combination of arsenal of weapons and transformation abilities makes him a true rival to the Monkey King. Later on in the story, he assists the Monkey King in bringing down an ancient Dragon King and his villainous son-in-law, a nine-headed demon.

It was revealed that more recently, he was transported into VIMworld while defending the Jade Palace against inter-dimensional demonic intruders. He was flung into a portal which led him to the Devotion Oathsworns settlement, and after crossing paths with Hachi, Borf as well as the mysterious triple katana warrior and fighting alongside with them against the same demonic intruders, he re-awoken his powers courtesy of Alanna, Goddess of Harvest and patron deity of the Devotion Oathsworns Clan.

Call Forth Erlang Shen with Devotion Treasures! Catalysts & Blessings From the Goddess

Similar to previous Devotion VIMs, there are several prerequisites to get Erlang Shen for free.

We’ve previously mentioned that the only way was to own both Hachi and Borf, but after thinking long and hard after the re-launch of our project, we’ve decided to expand our event scope this time to bring in as many of our devoted community members to stand a chance to obtain this limited edition VIM. After all, we’d like to touch upon all Devoted VIM owners, no matter how big or small they are.

As a result, we’ve come up with 3 separate, independent missions and Blessing tasks that will lead to a devoted community member obtaining this new VIM. Strategic minded community members may work to qualify for all 3 missions, they are not mutually exclusive.

The Calling: Summoning Erlang Shen with Borf, Hachi and VIMenergy

The first way to obtain Erlang Shen is to summon him by calling forth his spirit by using Borf & Hachi, the two Devotion Clan members, as well as using VIMenergy as a catalyst!

This summoning method is a twist on the classic Devotion VIM event structure. We believe that the most devoted community members should be valued based on their belief in our tokenomics, and one of the most direct way of showing devotion is by feeding their VIMs with VEED and VIMenergy.

F Tier Erlang Shen VIMs with 100 Devotion Treasures will be distributed to all holders who:

a) Owns both Borf and Hachi VIMs (with Devotion Treasures) in their wallet

b) The total aggregate VIMenergy of ALL VIMs in that particular wallet has to be larger than multiples of 1000, per Erlang Shen.

This means that you can have as many Borf and Hachi pairs in the wallet, and you will be rewarded with a Erlang Shen VIM as long as your VIMenergy amount across all VIMs in your wallet is larger than multiples of 1000.

For example, if you have 3 pairs of Borf and Hachi, and you have a few A tier or S tier VIMs making up 4000 VIMenergy, you will get 3 Erlang Shen VIMs.

However, if you have 3 pairs of Borf and Hachi, but you only have 1500 VIMenergy, you will only get 1 Erlang Shen.

Detailed rules for The Calling:

• A wallet must have multiples of 1000 VIMenergy and a Borf + Hachi pair to get a F Tier Erlang Shen VIM.
• The Erlang Shen VIM comes with 100 Devotion Treasure tokens.
• A snapshot of all the qualifying addresses will take place on August 1st, 2021 UTC time (can be from 00:00 to 23:59, so the whole day is fair game).
• You do not need to submit any forms to be eligible for the giveaway. Just sit back, and relax.
• You can claim multiple VIMs in a single wallet. No need to split your wallets!
• The Borf & Hachi VIM must have Devotion Treasures, and must have already been migrated to the new smart contract.
• This is an independent mission. You may participate in other missions with no restrictions.
• VIMworld Foundation reserves the right to interpret the rules and intervene in the VIM distribution in case of any disputes or technical issues that may arise.

Blessing #1: Summoning Erlang Shen with Additional Treasures by Owning S2+ Vanguard VIMs

The second way to summon Erlang Shen is by owning VIMs with the new Vanguard Treasures! By using Vanguard VIMs as a catalyst, the Patron Deity of the Devotion Clan, Alanna herself will bless the owner with a Er Langshen VIM.

The support shown by our most dedicated VIM owners feasting their beloved VIMs to beyond S Tiers was incredible, and this blessing is the first of many events designed to reward them.

By owning Vanguard Treasures above S2 Tiers for any VIMs, an F Tier Erlang Shen VIM will be rewarded to their wallet. On top of that, the Devotion Treasure tokens will increase the higher the Tier of the Vanguard VIM!

Increasing Amount of Devotion Treasures for Vanguard S2 Tiers and above!

The amount of Devotion Treasures increases by 100 for each tier starting from S2.

For example, If the VIM has S2 Vanguard Emerald Treasures (Emerald), then the airdropped Erlang Shen will have 200 Devotion Treasures.

If you have a S3 Vanguard Sapphire Treasure VIM, your Erlang Shen will have 300 Devotion Treasures, and so on.

The higher the Vanguard Tier, the more exclusive and valuable the Erlang Shen will be due to its Treasures!

Detailed rules for Blessing #1:

• An F Tier Erlang Shen VIM with varying amounts of Treasures will be rewarded to wallets with S2+ Vanguard Treasures.
• The Devotion Treasure tokens start at 200 for S2 Vanguard, and increases by 100 for each subsequent Vanguard tier.
• A snapshot of all the qualifying addresses will take place on August 1st, 2021 UTC time (can be from 00:00 to 23:59, so the whole day is fair game).
• You do not need to submit any forms to be eligible for the giveaway. Just sit back, and relax.
• You can claim multiple VIMs in a single wallet. No need to split your wallets!
• This is an independent mission. You may participate in other missions with no restrictions.
• VIMworld Foundation reserves the right to interpret the rules and intervene in the VIM distribution in case of any disputes or technical issues that may arise.

Blessing #2: Special Lottery for Dedicated Daily VIM Feeding Users

The third and final way to summon Erlang Shen is designed to reward members who are devoted but have less resources to fulfill the previous missions, and especially for new users in the VIMworld ecosystem. Goddess Alanna believes that the devoted should not go unrewarded, and the dedication shown is the catalyst in itself.

10 Erlang Shen VIMs will be minted and placed in a special pool for Mission 3. Every VIM that has been fed VEED/VIMenergy on a daily basis without fail since Day 2 of the VIM smart contract migration will be qualified to enter the giveaway draw!

Detailed rules for Blessing #2:

• 10 F Tier Erlang Shen VIM with 50 Devotion Treasure tokens will be minted.
• A VIM that has been fed daily since July 3rd, 2021 until the end of the event when the snapshot is conducted will be qualified to enter the giveaway draw.
• A snapshot of all the qualifying addresses will take place on August 1st, 2021 UTC time (can be from 00:00 to 23:59, so the whole day is fair game).
• You do not need to submit any forms to be eligible for the giveaway. Just sit back, and relax.

A Recap on Treasures

Treasures are pieces of metadata that can be held by a VIM and designate certain traits or characteristics. Some Treasures represent the ‘bloodline’ of a VIM, tying VIMs to a Clan while other Treasures signify that a VIM has endured a special VIMworld global event. Some

Treasures denote the elemental potential of a VIM and others help to broadcast uniqueness.

Treasures can be purchased, won or gifted to offer additional value and context to a VIM regardless of its tier.

Treasures can be spent like a currency within games and interactives, purchasing powerups, add-ons, and other VIM-specific products and experiences.

Treasures are given to VIMs who successfully fulfil mission & quest requirements, increasing their value and making them uniquely identifiable both in-lore and in-ecosystem.
