VinuChain is the world’s first feeless EVM-Compatible Layer-1. It combines an efficient consensus mechanism and high transaction speed with an innovative fee model. The outcome is a platform designed to cater to a diverse portfolio of applications, ranging from microtransactions and gamified experiences to comprehensive DeFi applications.

Validators on VinuChain are responsible for processing transactions, creating new blocks, and participating in the consensus mechanism. They are incentivized not only by block rewards but also through earning gas fees from transactions processed by non-stakers.

This incentive model aims to encourage Validators to continue their crucial role in securing the network, thereby contributing to the ongoing stability and robustness of VinuChain.

  • As of writing, VinuChain Validators currently earn 100%+ APY from block rewards!

Understanding VinuChain Nodes

Validator Nodes form the backbone of the VinuChain network. By staking VC, the native token, they participate in the network’s consensus process. Their primary responsibilities involve verifying transactions, creating new blocks, and preserving the integrity of the blockchain.

Ordinary nodes, while not directly involved in the consensus process, fulfill crucial network functionalities. They contribute to maintaining the blockchain’s state, relaying transactions, and enhancing the overall robustness of the network.

A Quick Step-by-Step Guide

1. Set Up a Read-Only Node

Read-Only Nodes are nodes that do not participate in the consensus process. Instead, they connect to full nodes or the network’s APIs to retrieve information from the blockchain.

They are “read-only” because they cannot write or create new transactions on the blockchain; they can only read and display data.

You must install a read-only node before you can upgrade to a validator node. More technical details can be found here.

2. Upgrade to Become a Validator Node

After installing a Read-Only Node, you can upgrade to a VinuChain validator by registering your validator node on-chain. To do this, you need to have at least 200,000 $VC to create a validator wallet. The wallet is the validator’s identity in the network which it uses to authenticate, sign messages, etc. Follow the technical steps here.

A list of all active Validators can be found on VinuScan.
