An effective way to display and analyze data.

Supply chain management has a variety of factors, from market planning until last-mile delivery, which all can be made perfect with the use of data insights. With proper usage of charts, you can visually show the differences, profits and losses, dynamics and varying proportions of individual elements with ease.

Even in larger corporations, Supply chain is a problem to be solved to make it more efficient, reliable and scalable. Major problems encountered is the digitisation of the complete system. Also teams juggle multiple projects and work with more people around the globe both internal & external stakeholders it’s becoming increasingly challenging to accomplish their objectives.

MY ROLE

Introducing data visualisation in Mobile. Having data visualisation already placed in o9’s web platform, I worked on bringing the mobile data visualisation up to the mark which involved identifying the user goals, conceptualised flows, created wireframes, visual designs, and communication with the interactions to developers. Revamping Web data visualisation.

DISCOVERY

Users request,

“Offline reports that can be pushed onto users’ tabs/smartphones and that allow users to navigate and drill down the reports and view pretty snazzy graphs and tables.”

“Be able to type in natural language like queries into a ubiquitous search bar and get the appropriate, specific answer.”

GOALS

Design an Interactive and seemless access to the pre-configured web reports

One of the main themes for field productivity is to have information available at the user’s fingertips. There are two main workflows by which data is consumed:

  1. Structured reports: In this case, there are standard reports that the user is familiar with and uses very often. Structured reports also ensure certain user work practice hygiene i.e. ensure process adherence

DESIGN

Charts - Web & Mobile - Light Theme
Charts — Web & Mobile — Dark Theme

INTRODUCING LINE CHART IN MOBILE

  • Types of Charts : Bar, Member stacked, Line
  • Viewing data in charts for search results through NLP query

FEATURES

The features considered in the mobile app to ease the users interacation with our platform,

  • Chart ‘Workspace’ - lists out the reports configured in web UI
  • Time frames - View chart data weekly, daily or yearly
  • Cumulative Function
  • Contextual ToolTip
  • Chart for NLP

View & hide legends, Tooltip — Revenue for the selected month & selected legend

Chart reports through NLP search, Search Result — Line Chart & Pie Chart reports

INDEX

*NLP : Natural Language Process

*Widget : a component of an interface, that enables a user to perform a function or access a service.

REFLECTION

Presenting such large Widgets data on a mobile screen can be really challenges. I found the key to solving this design problem was collaboration & constructive feedbacks.
