Several days have passed since IP Expo 2016 in London and now it’s a good time to speak about interim results for our team and share general impressions about the event. We are delighted to have taken this opportunity to present VIPole products, gaining new partners and customers.

The event was truly exceptional, uniting thousands of people including IT professionals from Europe and Asia, students specializing in cybersecurity, and people searching for smart solutions to protect their sensitive data. Thanks to everyone who stopped at our stand, it was a pleasure to present our enterprise solutions to the most demanding audience and to hear industry insights from colleagues who’ve been providing communications products for decades. Along with new clients, the amazing experience we had exhibiting at IP EXPO in London has brought inspiring ideas on further development of our products.

VIPole exhibited in the Cyber Security section, which was a part of the global event encompassing Networks & Infrastructure, Data Analytics, DevOps, Open Source and Cloud sections. The cyber security panel at IP EXPO featured security experts from Sophos, Kaspersky Labs, Sonatype and Trend Micro. They spoke about their experience, presented cases and named the trends that will define the development of cyber security market in the coming years.

The speakers emphasized that dependence on connected technologies exposes cyber physical systems to new accidents and unauthorized data use. It’s where bits & bytes meet flesh & blood, as Joshua Corman, Director of the Cyber Statecraft Initiative, describes the state of things.

At the panel discussion, Eugene Kaspersky, CEO of Kaspersky Lab, highlighted another dangerous trend: cyber-criminals are looking to attack critical national infrastructure, including power stations and telecoms. “We are currently living in a world of the ‘internet of threats’,” said Kaspersky.

Keeping up with good practice was named the biggest challenge by experts. Another issue for business is detecting attacks and responding immediately, says Shawn Henry, CSO, Crowdstrike and a retired executive assistant director of the FBI.

Personal data protection was in the focus at IP Expo together with the concerns of companies putting efforts in protecting critical information. James Lyne, global head of security research at Sophos, considers average users unaware of threats that private data leakage may cause.

“People don’t really understand why they are valuable to cyber criminals. They think, I’m not that interesting. They understand why a credit card is useful, but anything beyond that, the new types of data or new devices, — people struggle to understand why a cyber-criminal might care,” said James Lyne.

Preparing for the exhibition, VIPole team focused mostly on our cloud and on-premise enterprise solutions, as the expo was business-oriented; however, exhibition visitors and exponents who stopped at our stand often asked whether we have encrypted communication solutions for end users as well. Of course we do. VIPole client application for desktops is available on our website, and mobile apps are free for download on Google Play and on the App Store. Here is the list of features in VIPole designed to protect the privacy of every user by default and in emergency cases.

We are glad that VIPole community will now welcome security professionals and enthusiasts from Europe’s number one enterprise IT event. Thank you for the interest to our encrypted communications solutions.
