The Sustainability and Procurement Chef is responsible for getting the finest ingredients to the island in the most sustainable methods and for the best price possible. Sounds easy enough? Only caveats are that the candidate MUST have worked in 5-star establishments as a sous chef (or similiar role) and be willing to live in paradise. Management Controller (open)
Are you finance professional who is generally sick of living amongst the rest of us in modern day society? Well then, wait no longer — Necker Island is hiring a Senior Financial Controller. The Management Controller is key support for all financial elements of the business including income, cost management and reporting.
This person needs to have previous experience in a financial role for a hospitality/leisure organization. Tennis Coach (filled)
Sir Richard Branson is a HUGE tennis enthusiast, and is hiring a Tennis Coach; not just for guests on Necker Island, but also for Sir Richard himself! In this role you will get a chance to interact with celebrities and some of the best tennis players in the world. Each November, Necker Island hosts the ‘Necker Cup’ a world class Pro/Am event, which has included tennis greats Serena Williams, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.
Required job skills/experience include: ‘Able to push Richard with his tennis while equally enthusiastic about getting other guests (adults and children) on court…passion and pride in their work…sense of fun!’
Mixologist and Guest Experience Host (filled)
As the Mixology and Guest Experience Host you are responsible for ‘exceeding guest expectations at all times — you are the “Jazz Hands” of the operation — everyone is looking to you make the guests experience out of this world and unforgettable.’ This is a very ‘visible’ role, and you are directly interacting with guests on a daily basis. You are responsible for creating an amazing and innovative cocktail menu that will dazzle even the most well-traveled guests.
Required job skills/experience include: ‘Minimum 3 years’ experience as a practicing Mixologist… anticipating guest needs and facilitating the small touches that enhance the guest experience….a passion for making exceptional holidays.’
Watersports Instructor (filled)
Are you an adrenaline junkie who is always on the move? Then this is the role you have been dreaming of! Sir Richard is known for his love of all watersports and is always pushing the envelope — he currently holds the Guinness Record for most people on one kiteboard (four!). Necker Island is the ideal Caribbean location for guests to take advantage of a wide variety of watersports including: kiteboarding, scuba diving and sailing. As the watersports Instructor you will be responsible for providing daily watersports lessons to ‘some of the most interesting people in the world,’ and to help shuttle guests to and from the island via the Necker Island fleet of powerboats and RIBs.
Required job skills/experience include: ‘Qualified in water sports skills: (e.g. RYA certifications, kitesurfing and diving qualifications )…happy to be hands on…excellent guest contact skills/socially confident.’
Junior Sous Chef (filled)
When celebrities and guests visit Necker, the island is typically reserved exclusively for just their group. There are no restaurants on Necker Island, so the culinary team is responsible for providing all meals, snacks and drinks for up to 22 island guests daily. The Junior Sous Chef will work directly with the Head Chef to create exemplary meals, tailored for guests with exceptionally high standards and culinary expectations. As a Junior Sous Chef you will help develop unique recipes and menus, assist with food deliveries (you are on an island!) and ensure all meals are prepared to the highest health and safety standards.
Required job skills/experience include: ‘Worked in 5 star establishments…versatile in providing different styles of cuisine (i.e. Asian, Italian etc.)…flexible and able to cook in different environments.’
Food and Beverage Manager (filled)
Necker Island is known for offering guests’ amazing culinary experiences; from freshly prepared sushi ‘boats’ floating in a private pool, to beachside dinners via candlelight. The island employs some of the best chefs and front of house staff in the world to create exclusive guest experiences daily. As the Food and Beverage Manager you are responsible for coordinating all members of the culinary and customer service team to ensure a personalized, one-of-a-kind guest holiday from start to finish.
Required job skills/experience include: ‘Resourceful approach — able to troubleshoot and manage complex logistical challenges in the event of a change of plan…extensive knowledge of wines & cocktails…sense of ownership and pride for the guest experience.’
