Free Zoom backgrounds for VR nerds
With Zoom taking over our working lives, we’ve curated a collection of backgrounds for our fellow immersive technology enthusiasts (better known as VR nerds).
Credit is linked to the original creators where you can download these, but all images are commercially free to use for your next company-wide webinar, or most probably chilling on your lunch break hungry for human connection.
Judging by the top-selling apps across many stores, it seems that dark neon art style across the likes of Beats Saber and Pistol Whip (and now Tetris Effect) is a firm favourite. The below list covers this and many more themes:
Japanese City by Kirill Sibiriakov
Unity designer and developer Kirill shared screenshots from his latest project with the Virtual Reality facebook community for them to use and critique.
Planet Earth by Pixabay
Created by Pixabay, the image, viewed over 7 million times is free to download. Who doesn’t love a nice image of earth! A VR lovers favourite.
Retro Gaming by Lorenzo Herrera
These artsy images of retro gaming devices bring back all the nostalgia that many VR titles try to do!
Downtown Tracks by Nicolas Postiglioni
This shot from Nicolas taken at Toledo train station in Spain captures those neon vibes we VR nerds seem to love.
The Tunnel by Nathan Duck
Nathan’s mystery shot of a tunnel wouldn’t look an inch out of place in your next favourite VR game. Stare at it too long and you’ll be ready to hit style to the beat.
Neon City by Nicolas Postiglioni
It’s hard to believe this isn’t a video game in some Sci-Fi world. This shot captures the city life and will look great as your next Zoom background.
Sci-Fi station by Tim van der Kuip
This shot of Lisbon’s train station taken by Tim wouldn’t look out of place within most VR triple A titles.
Retro Arcade by Mikechie Esparagoza
Let’s face it, we miss arcades. You probably haven’t visited one in years. Enjoy the retro vibes and neon lights for your next set of Zoom backgrounds.
A throwback to the Cardboard days (by Aleksandar Pasaric)
Would the list be complete with a homage to the Google Cardboard? Many of you may be sick of the sight, but here you go for old times sake…
I’d Rather Be in VR (by Virtual Umbrella)
For the Zoom meetings that would have been more fun in glorious 360 degrees.
