Muslim women under attack

An accusation which is regularly aimed at Islam and Muslim men is that we treat women as second class citizens. Despite evidence from The Holy Quran itself which shows that women are equal to men, many groups and individuals attack Islam on this false stance.

So in light of these accusations, one would assume that Muslim women are treated wonderfully in The West, in countries where people snort through their noses at Islam as a medieval cult.

So lets have a look at how secure and free the Muslim women of Australia feel.

A Muslim mother verbally abused at a Melbourne playground and ordered to stop her child from playing with others is among dozens of attacks against the Islamic community in recent weeks.

It is one of at least six incidents nationally in which a Muslim mother has been abused, either in front of her children or while heavily pregnant, that appears on a list of abuse being compiled by Muslim community leaders.

Overall there have been 30 recorded attacks, mainly on women wearing the hijab — in the three weeks since anti-terror raids swept Sydney and the feared Islamic State stepped up their threats.

The above is a small snippet of the thousands of Muslim women who get harassed and physically and verbally abused in The West by men and women simply for being Muslim, or for looking different.

Muslim men are often accused of locking the women of their families up in their homes, not allowing them out unless accompanied by a man, yet ironically the vile abuse Muslim women are facing on a daily basis means that some are making the decision to stay at home and only go out when they are accompanied by someone who can protect them.

Is this the actions of a free, plural society? The people gagging to get onto television to trash Islam seem to conveniently forget the abuse Muslim women face from the civilised democratic Western World.
