Ahmadiyya Anjuman Ishaat Islam Lahore (Suriname branch) held an international conference from 15 November 2012 to the 18th. Its topic was ‘My Perception of Islam — the religion of peace’.

The conference started with the official welcome of foreign delegates on the 15th. It formally opened with Fajr prayers on Friday the 16th November. On the first day the first session was devoted to non-Muslims giving their perception of Islam. This was also attended by high civil and political leaders and the Home Minister of Suriname also addressed the meeting. The evening session was attended by diplomats.

The Saturday sessions, morning and evening, were attended by foreign delegates. Each session on every day was closed by Hazrat Amir.

On Sunday morning a business meeting was held where proposals were discussed to improve the training of members of the jamaat.

The afternoon was spent visiting a number of Lahore Ahmadiyya Mosques in different areas around Paramaribo.
