An American who listens to our lectures emailed us to ask whether we dislike the American people because this misimpression may be gleaned from the things we say. Our criticism is aimed at the American government and its agencies. We do not dislike anyone let alone the man in the street. We merely criticize the US government. We apologise to the US public if we have given the impression that we dislike them.
