Fully Immersive Video Games

The Future of video games could be a lot closer than we think! Advancements are constantly being made in video game technology, each providing the structure to build the next step up in virtual reality. The goal being to have the user fully immersed in a virtual world with full body movement. I have always been a fan of video games and virtual reality, I even had an old virtual reality headset that played basic two dimensional arcade games.

Virtual reality can provide a world of experiences, not only for gamers but perhaps movie buffs or other thrill seekers. It offers full immersion with the reality of adrenaline, without the risk! Virtual reality would change the world once full immersion has been achieved.

Virtual Reality has been on the rise with the visual perception being the main focus. With hardware like the Oculus Rifts and the PSVR virtual reality has been becoming more and more accesable to the consumer, and these headsets are already awesome, So we can only get better from here!

I will be researching an estimate of how long it may take for technology to have us at a “Ready Player One” level of immersion. Also if virtual reality could provide any type of benefit to the medical community or help calm those with stress disorders. Placing patients in a new more relaxing environment through virtual reality could help ease their tension. Another interesting topic for virtual reality is how it could effect education. One is much better to understand “living through” situations rather than reading them from a textbook.
