Measure
- a plan or course of action taken to achieve a particular purpose
- to estimate or access the extent, qualityn ,value or effect of something
We live in days of controversy and challenge.
Our fundamental values are being eroded or being silenced day after day.
The cost of standing up for our beliefs about faith, about sexuality and even gender is becoming extremely high .
We can no longer use pronouns such as he or she in many settings.
There are costs financially and possibly legally. We can be fired, fined and sometimes imprisoned for what we say.
The quote from Martin Luther King Jr. caused me to think and have some moments of fear this morning.
The fear is not for myself at this age.
The fear is for my children and my grandchildren .
What will be the cost to them? Their lives have been disrupted. Their plans for the future are uncertain.
I pray
I pray for them.
I pray for myself.
I pray for my nation and for yours.
I pray for wisdom for our leaders as we move through these uncharted waters.
I pray that I will write words that bring hope, peace and courage
Father, show me your plan or course of action to accomplish your purpose in my world today.
