After the vote
I choose life, joy and guilty pleasure

Yesterday was Election Day in the USA.
Constant noise flooded every channel on television.
Debates , wondering , questioning and posturing dominated the airwaves.
The phrase that repeated in my head was : ‘ Not my monkey – Not my zoo’.
Every time I turned on the TV anxiety filled my body .
Even writing this on the day after I feel the tension and tears rise in my eyes.
At this point I have a choice.
I can give in to the fear or I can turn off the noise.
I can turn off the TV .
I can ignore the constant input .
Last night, I chose to watch three episodes of ‘Murder She Wrote’ .
Not mind blowing but it was at least a calorie free, humorous distraction.
So what is my point this morning ?
Wholesome Distraction Releaves Stress
I vote for ordinary.
I vote for simple pleasures that turn off the anguish.
I vote to refresh my body, my soul and my spirit.
I vote to choose life on this Wednesday morning.
I can’t change the world BUT I can change my world .
I can choose simple pleasures like
‘Murder She Wrote’
