Welcome to the 18th episode of Dev Update! In this episode, hosts Anis and Danny shared some exciting news and updates. They began by discussing the recent happenings, including the release of the Quest and Jetpack games, as well as the introduction of riddles. The past two weeks have been busy with these developments!

Anis mentioned that the much-anticipated 1.8 update, which has been delayed due to previous releases, is expected to be ready for release in the following week. Users can look forward to the integration of voice over IP (VoIP) in 1.8. and some of the features will be moved to the 1.9 crib update.

Jaka explained that these recent updates are just a warm-up, with many more exciting things planned for the near future. They mentioned upcoming seasons, though the exact dates are not yet known, as well as the introduction of cribs and further Jetpack updates.

Danny provided some insights into the Jetpack Hyperleague. The next phase, called Phase 2, will focus on setting up tournament modes, introducing in-game currencies, and preparing for mobile releases. However, it was clarified that not all aspects of Phase 2 would be released at once, but rather staggered over the course of a few weeks. Currently, the team’s main focus is solving bugs and ensuring a smooth experience for users. The specific dates for these releases will be announced on time, allowing users to stay updated on the development progress.

During the episode, Danny and Anis also took the time to address some community questions. They revealed that the team is actively working on mobile game releases, indicating that exciting games will be available on mobile platforms in the future. One highly anticipated feature mentioned by the hosts was the integration of leaderboards into the cribs. This addition is expected to bring a competitive element to the cribs, allowing users to compare their achievements and progress with others. The introduction of leaderboards is likely to enhance the overall gaming experience and create a sense of competition among players.

Anis also mentioned that the team has big plans for the Monster zone cribs, which are set to be released after the 1.9 crib update. The team is investing considerable effort and resources into building a comprehensive experience around the Monster zone cribs. While specific details about the Monster zone are not known yet it can be inferred that the team is dedicated to creating an immersive and engaging environment within the Monster zone. This suggests that players can anticipate a rich and exciting gameplay experience.

In response to a question about whether there are plans to allow crib owners to create portals directly into games from their cribs, Anis confirmed that this is indeed a feature that will be integrated in the future. Anis also mentioned that the team is looking forward to implementing this feature not only for their own games but also for VGN (Virtual Game Network). This suggests that players will have the opportunity to access a wide range of games through their cribs, potentially expanding the gaming options and experiences available to them. Additionally, Anis highlighted that the integration of leaderboards, mentioned earlier, is another exciting feature that is being planned.

One of the plans that Danny spoke about, is also integration of all existing vFlects into the Jetpack game. However, there might be limitations in terms of the attributes associated with these vFlects. The team is currently exploring this aspect and it is suggested that there may only be visual changes to the characters rather than any significant attribute modifications. It was mentioned that the potential implementation of attributes in the game may be based on the rarity of the vFlects, although no official decisions have been made at the moment.

Asked if there is any information about when the Virtua Nitro NFT’s on Cardano will be usable with the Nitro league, Anis answered that this is an upcoming topic that will be discussed in the following week. By mentioning that it is something to consider, he indicated that the team is evaluating the feasibility and potential benefits of integrating these NFTs into the game. The details of how and when the Virtua Nitro NFTs will be utilized within Nitro League are likely to be discussed in the upcoming week, indicating that the team is actively exploring the possibilities and seeking to provide more information to the community.

That is all for this week’s dev update so we hope you enjoyed and give this a listen on Spotify and Apple Podcasts!
