As Canada begins to recover post-pandemic, a number of job roles are popping up in high demand. In one of our previous posts, we listed off the most in-demand jobs in Ontario, where 4 of the occupations were related to the IT industry.

CIC News (Canada’s largest immigration news website run by CandaVisa) published multiple list of in-demand jobs categorized by province. You can check the Top 15 for Quebec, Top 10 for BC, and Top 12 for Alberta to get a good idea of the country-wide demand. At least two of the occupations in each of those lists are related to the IT industry.

So is it possible to secure employment in the IT industry outside of Canada? If you’re a skilled IT professional in an in-demand occupation, yes it can be possible! There are a number of recruitment firms and services that help talented software engineers receive job offers and relocate to Canada from abroad. Many of them are geared towards software engineering roles specifically but some also list roles in software-related professions such as QA, data analysis, and so forth. It is definitely worth checking them out to get a good understanding of the opportunities available to foreign workers.

To make the search simpler for you, VisaWire gathered a list of such recruitment firms and relevant employment resources under the Employment Opportunities section. Simply navigate to the VisaWire app and select “I’m interested in Working”.

Best of luck with your job search! If you find that any relevant resources or information is missing, please reach by emailing info@visawireapp.com or through the contact form and let us know.

P.S. VisaWire is working on a talent database for skilled workers interested in moving to Canada. Interested in being a part of it? Let us know here and we’ll be in touch with more details!
