I am Second Year student of Vishwaniketan Institute from Electronics & Telecommunication department. I am experiencing Vishwaniketan Institute for the last one and a half year.

Vishwaniketan Institute provides you the knowledge and facilities which are required for a future and gives you opportunities to explore new things.

Some special features of Vishwaniketan Institute which we find different from other colleges are UG Fellowship, PBL (Project Based Learning), Business Modelling Workshop, Design Thinking Workshop, etc. When I got admission in this college, from the very first day college is inspiring students to do something very different with the help of PBL like start-ups, patent etc. Project Based Learning” (PBL) is policy which makes Vishwaniketan Institute special from any other college.

Project Based Learning is an instructional approach designed to give students the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills through engaging projects set around challenges are problems they may face in the real world. Project Based Learning or
PBL is more than just projects, PBL is “respond to an authentic, engaging and complex problem or challenge with deep and sustain attention”. PBL helps students develop skills for living in a knowledge based, highly technology society

The old college model of passively learning facts and reciting them out of context is no longer sufficient to prepare students to survive in today’s world. Solving highly complex problems requires that students have both fundamental skills and 21st century skills. With this combination of skills, students become directors and managers of their learning process, guided and mentored by a skilled teacher. Some skills are very important in the 21st century.

Personal and social responsibility, planning, critical thinking,
reasoning and creativity, strong communication skills, both for interpersonal and presentation needs, cross-cultural understanding, visualizing and decision-making, knowing how and when to use
technology and choosing the most appropriate tool for the task. These are some basic skill requirements for the 21st century.

PBL and the use of technology enable students, teachers and administrators to reach out beyond the college building. Students become engaged builders of a new knowledge base and become active, lifelong learners.PBL teaches children to take control of their learning, the first step as lifelong learners. There are many advantages of PBL over traditional question and answer type education.

All the faculty members of the institute are experienced and expert in their respective subjects. They all have thorough knowledge about PBL and basic qualities which would be expected
from good teacher. Some of their good qualities are Effective Goal Setting, Clear Communication, Acting as a Role Model, Adaptability and Flexibility, Good Preparation, Lifelong Learning Ability
and promoting a Love of Learning.

They all give personal attention to each and every student of their batch. Because of all these advantages students are free to share their views about any topic with the teachers.

So, Vishwaniketan Institute produces a “Relationship Of Trust” between the students and teachers. CTIF-Global Capsule (CGC) Vishwaniketan network offers PhD. fellowships to Indian teachers and fellowship to undergraduate students with sponsorship at partner university abroad. These fellowships have been proved to be an excellent opportunity
for overall development, exposure to different cultures, technical and life skill development. Vishwaniketan Institute has tie ups with more than 14 universities all over the world.

UG Fellowship program is for 45 days in a summer vacation. Vishwaniketan Institute is the first private college in India which offers UG Fellowship program after getting selected in the interview.

Since last year,700 students have successfully completed UG Fellowship. Vishwaniketan, is poised to soon become one of the leading educational Institute in India! International
collaboration for UG fellowship, MS/PhD program. I got selected for “Tor Vergata University, Rome, Italy”. But due to pandemic situation this program was cancelled for year 2020.

After cancellation of UG Fellowship program institute gave us two options to proceed further. First was to keep token amount as it is for next UG Fellowship program and for the same University. Another option was refund of money after necessary reduction. So, all necessary actions were taken on prior and immediate mode.

In this dangerous pandemic situation Institute is taking care of our education and learning with the help of online platforms. At the beginning of June month college had arranged two workshops for all Second Year students as “Business Modelling Workshop” & “Design Thinking Workshop”.

Groups of 5 students were made and a mentor was assigned to each and every separate group. Each workshop was for one week and divided into 2 sessions as morning & evening session. In the morning there was a learning session in which experts taught us all the basic and advanced things about Business Modelling and Design Thinking.

In the afternoon session we had to present all our assigned tasks given by the experts for a whole day. A “Business Modelling” describes the
rationale of how an organization creates, delivers, and captures value, in economic, social, cultural or other contexts.

“Design Thinking” refers to the cognitive, strategic and practical process
by which design concepts are developed. Many Workshops, Guest Talks, Competitions, Educational Courses, etc., were arranged by Institute on online platform for their students. Because of all these activities students get more precise view to look at their future along with developed practical skills. Self-learning, leadership qualities, Perseverance, self-confidence, etc., these qualities develop in the students because of all initiatives.
