My Experience at VCAAD

Hi there!

I’m an Architecture student from first year, although because of COVID — 19 outbreak our admissions have been late than it was supposed to be; although in architectural views we have seen our college pretty well…

The full name of architecture college is ‘Vishwaniketan college of Architecture, Arts and design’, we most often call it by it’s acronym as VCAAD (Vi- Caad). If you see our college, from outside it might look a lil plain yet classic black — white but as you go inside you’ll find a touch of modernism more and more. College’s entrance is decorated with few lighterns and walls are decorated with colourful shapes and artworks the ground floor washroom is near entrance after that a lil ahead you can see the college office (which is exact in front of entrance); staff office/ teacher’s room is attached to college office. Before you go to the stairs you’ll see a Studio which is of 1st year (that’s where our regular lectures have been conducted). The studio contains too many drafting tables & some lockers but each & every wall is painted with some creative artwork. As you walk out of the classroom there’s a way behind staff office which will take you towards another studio, this is the studio for second year it’s similar as first year but has quite bigger space. After you came out of the classroom you’ll see a staircase in front (near 1st year studio) as you start walking on it you’ll see various types of artworks on each wall & sides of stairs, there are artworks & 3D art on some stairs too so on first floor you’ll see third year studio, computer room, library, classroom 1, classroom 2 & washroom. Third year studio is like normal studio only, computer room has lots of computers with a blackboard & white screen, library has plenty of knowledgeable books related to Architecture and also of arts & design, classroom 1 & classroom 2 are just like normal classrooms but what makes them special is that they’re e-classes, 1st year washroom has a ladies room for girls and because of our ex GS Mr.Raju Raaz it has a sanitary napkins’ machine, he made really good changes when he was GS, although this was information about first floor. As you go start looking at second floor you’ll see that there’s a store room at starting after that you’ll see fourth & fifth year studios & at ending there’s a hall type mini exhibition room where you can see all the projects made by students first to final year, it’s a really beautiful must to see room in our building. I didn’t tell you one most important and proud fact i.e. all the studios each classroom, every wall every corridor, ceiling, everything is decorated and coloured/ painted by students of first to final year.

I guess I’ve told you enough about our college in architectural view but I guess you may don’t know about our faculty, non teaching staff, other staff, and directorate staff.

Our Director is Mrs. Inamdar mam and Assistant Director is Dr. Inamdar sir while our Principal is Mrs. Suchetha Ajay Matthew; when our meeting happened with respective Inamdar sir they told us something really unique and which made us took admission in VCAAD (nobody forced us but) Sir’s that speech was really intimidating. The points ahead were discussed…

Before opening Vishwaniketan institute sir was in teaching field for than 20–22 years then some foreign universities offered them, then sir been there, understood that teaching there is dissimilar than compared to here, sir was really shocked cause they thought that it must be similar or not that different but in real there was a huge difference. Then sir been there for 4–5 years and learnt how practical and knowledge based teaching- learning system & Project based learning in foreign is. Came back here with a dream of a institute with practical & knowledge based learning. Then came along with a group of scholar professor friends and worked hard to make the dream come true. After years of struggle they achieved their goal. But if we’re talking about faculty and directorate team everybody is really kind and willing to give you home like feeling.

Our most of the faculty for architecture has passed their masters from really good universities within their respective states. We have really intellectual faculty with some really good teaching skills; They make sure that they’re teaching us with Inamdar Sir’s Project based learning (PBL) system. Our office staff members are so helpful and kind that they even help us with form filling and other online procedure.
