Being an only child was probably great growing up. But being an only child adult sucks. I feel quite under-prepared for social situations. I also find it harder to build relationships and maintain contact, etc. I think I am more alone and lonely in the world. No one has experienced the same things that we can share. Not having a sibling leaves a permanent void. Instead of what could have happened, I am even more worried about what might happen. Only children are more likely to have a divorce, be socially awkward, or develop a narcissistic personality disorder. Only children are honestly dealt a horrible hand.
