Visible Hands Announces Sponsorship from Goldman Sachs’ Launch With GS
Visible Hands — an investment firm with a fellowship program that funds and supports underrepresented founders — receives a sponsorship from Goldman Sachs’ Launch with GS initiative.
BOSTON, MA — June 8th, 2021.
Visible Hands announced today it had received a sponsorship from Goldman Sachs’ Launch With GS initiative for the Visible Hands’ inaugural fellowship program. Through Launch With GS, Goldman Sachs aims to increase access to capital and facilitate connections for women, Black, Latinx, and other diverse entrepreneurs and investors.
Visible Hands is a pre-seed investment firm with a virtual-first, 14-week fellowship program to support women, Black, Indigenous, Latinx, non-binary, and other overlooked founders in launching tech startups. With the vision of narrowing the VC funding gap, Visible Hands aims to help create hundreds of companies led by underrepresented founders.
“We are thrilled to have the support of Launch with GS. The missions of our organizations are aligned. We love seeing how committed the team at Goldman Sachs is to supporting women, Black, Latinx, and diverse founders at the earliest stages of their entrepreneurial journey,” said Daniel Acheampong, Co-Founder and General Partner at Visible Hands.
“Visible Hands is providing founders with an amazing opportunity to learn from experts and grow their businesses from the ground up alongside their peers,” said Suzanne Gauron, head of Launch With GS. “We truly believe that diverse teams outperform and programs like these give underrepresented groups the tools to succeed.”
Notably, Visible Hands just closed its 6-week application cycle with over 900 applicants for its inaugural program. During the Visible Hands fellowship program, a cohort of ~30 selected fellows will receive an initial $25,000 investment upfront to start building their ventures, search for co-founders, and validate their solutions. Visible Hands provides each selected entrepreneur with capital to pursue their start-up full-time during the 14-week program. When the fellowship concludes, the entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to pitch their ventures to Visible Hands’ Investment Advisory Committee and potentially earn an additional $150,000 pre-seed investment. Visible Hands will continue to support the entrepreneurs for an additional nine months. This extra time will be focused on achieving key outcomes of acquiring customers and securing additional financing.
In addition to providing financial capital, Visible Hands supports its members by providing access to its ecosystem, a diverse network of over 600 industry experts, entrepreneurs, and investors. With this network, the entrepreneurs at Visible Hands can find mentors and possibly board members for their organizations.
