There seems to be no word more overused lately than “innovation.” And yet, it’s one of the most important drivers of new technology, business success and job creation. But if it’s ubiquitous, can it still be meaningful?
At Samsung, we’ve spent some time thinking about what’s really behind innovation — what leads to the type of breakthroughs that become the “next big thing.” Especially as we look across our nearly four decades of operations in America, this defining, bedrock characteristic is ingenuity: Vision, persistence, problem solving, and a willingness to question the way things have always been done and chart an entirely new path. We see these qualities every day in our U.S. employees, community partners, start-up investment groups and research teams. It’s one of the main reasons that we’ve grown our presence in America to over 18,500 employees and billions of dollars of investments in Manufacturing and R&D.
