KEVIN ABOSCH CRYPTO ARTIST

Back in 2016, photographer Kevin Abosch sold a photo of a potato for over $1 million USD. On Valentines Day this year he sold digital artwork of a rose for the same price. The Forever Rose was sold to a group of ten collectors who split the cost evenly in Cryptocurrency.

The collectors included a leading China-based crypto investor, investment funds, an advisory firm and various crypto projects, and the epic price tag is said to be the highest ever for a piece of Crypto-Art. Proving there is LOVE on the Blockchain! Abosch created Forever Rose in collaboration with GIFTO, a decentralized gifting platform that stores its record of collectibles on the Ethereum Blockchain. The Forever Rose is an ERC20 token called ROSE on said Blockchain. The buyers each receive 1/10 of the ROSE token, and of course if they want — they can always decide to sell one of their petals.

Kevin Abosch and The Forever Rose platform have donated the proceeds to CoderDojo Foundation for free programming classes for children and teens 7–17 years old.

Kevin Abosch’s original claim to fame is snapping beautiful portraits of busy executives and celebrities on his iconic black backdrop, in just a few seconds. But this unique creative dabbles in a lot of other kinds of art too. In his next big project, he wants to capture pictures of the human ego. To do that, Abosch will wear a fMRI (Functional magnetic resonance imaging) machine on his head and take pictures of his brain activity during ego-inducing situations. His plan is to then blow up the photographs into massive 10-feet high collections of colorful art.

Another Blockchain Crypto-Art Project to look out for from Kevin Abosch is I AM A COIN. He has created 100 physical artworks and a limited edition of 10 million virtual artworks. The physical works are stamped, using the artist’s own blood with the contract address on the Ethereum Blockchain — which corresponds to the creation of the 10 million virtual works (ERC20 tokens).
