What inspired you to pursue a career in the music industry?

Richard: After almost dying in a EF-3 tornado I then begin pursuing my music career seriously.

Please tell us about your journey playing the alto saxophone and what do you enjoy most about that particular instrument?

Richard: My passion for music developed when I was in my mother’s womb. When she would listen to music I would jump while in her womb. At the age of 10 I was exposed to Kenny G and fell in love with the sound not knowing what type of instrument it was at the time.

After I learned that it was a saxophone I told my parents I wanted to play and 4yrs later they bought me my very first alto saxophone. What I love about the saxophone is that it is considered the closest instrument that mocks a human vocalist! I love to sing but because I can’t, I sing through my instrument.

What are some memorable moments in your career so far?

Richard: Playing in front of Steve Harvey on Its Show Time At The Apollo and performing with Wynton Marsalis at his private condo in New York.

What are you currently working on?

Richard: I’m working on writing new music and preparing for my big concert at St James Live on Thursday July 29th at 7pm.

What do you want your musical legacy to be?

Richard: To positively impact the lives of over 1 Billion people through music and Believing Again!
