One of VisionBanker’s goals is to educate people about eye care health. We start by informing people about common eye problems and what they need to do to seek treatment. In this article, we discuss common eye problems related to ageing.

These are a few eye issues that are more common as individuals age, but they can affect anybody. There are a few necessary measures that individuals of any age can take to ease their inconvenience and see way better.

Presbyopia

Presbyopia is the loss of capacity to see near objects or small print. Advancement of presbyopia could be a typical process that happens gradually over a lifetime. You’ll not take note any change until after age 40.

Floaters

Floaters are minor spots or bits that float over the field of vision. Most individuals take note of them in well-lit rooms or outside on a sunny day.

Dry eyes

Dry eyes occur when tear glands cannot make sufficient tears or deliver destitute quality tears. Dry eyes can be awkward, causing tingling, burning or even a few loss of vision.

Tearing

Tearing, or having many tears, can come from being sensitive to light, wind, or temperature changes. Securing your eyes by protecting them or wearing shades can sometimes address the issue.

Cataracts

Cataracts are cloudy areas that develop within the lens in the front of the eye. The eye lens is like a camera lens. Cataracts keep light from effortlessly passing through the lens to the back of the eye (the retina), causing the loss of vision.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma is often due to increased pressure inside the eye. If left untreated, this condition can lead to permanent vision loss and blindness. Heredity may be a critical risk factor for glaucoma, as is age, diabetes, race, and a few medications.

Retinal Disorders

Retinal disorders are a leading cause of visual deficiency within the United States and in other developed nations. The retina is a thin lining behind the eye that identifies visual pictures and passes them on to the brain. Retinal disorders hinder this exchange of images. Common disorders include age-related macular degeneration, retinal separation, diabetic retinopathy.
