According to the World Health Organization, approximately 285 million individuals around the world have visual disabilities, with 39 million individuals who are blind and 246 million individuals who have low vision. Almost 80% of all visual impedance can be avoided or cured.

Universal eye health refers to “ensuring that all people have access to needed promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative eye health services, of sufficient quality to be effective, while also ensuring that people do not suffer financial hardship when paying for these services.”
The realization of widespread eye health needs multipronged methodologies. Worldwide points of view need to turn into workable local programs and viable commitments. Successful collaboration is significant in moving forward to comprehensive eye care administrations and the redistribution of resources.
With the efforts of local eye care professionals, governments and NGOs, the right to sight can be a dream come true.
