Juniper Kitchen and Bar | Vancouver
We were searching for a fancier place for a celebratory dinner when we walked past Juniper in Chinatown. The restaurant was in the gentrified part of Chinatown and was very popular and fully booked. Luckily for us they were able to squeeze us in since someone didn’t show up for their reservation. ✌️

What we ordered
Fish Board
- A good mixture of fish. Dispite it being fish, it was well cured and had a good smokey flavour. The platter was quite filling in the end.
Smoked Duck Wings
- Great portion and well seasoned. It had some Chinese zest to it and overall I think it tasted great!
Mussels, Bacon & Bread
- Loved the bread that came with the mussels — it was so buttery! The mussels itself was a bit disappointing — probably because the type of mussels were different from what I’m used to — they were not as meaty as I’d like them.
Passionfruit Smash (Drink)
- Love this drink! So fruity and fun to drink. It makes drinking non-alcholic drinks even better! 😄 I heard that Juniper was famous for their drinks and I think they’re right!

Final thoughts
In general, we liked the food and the enjoyed the atmosphere. We thought the menu was on the shorter side though, maybe we should order more drinks next time!
