The great planet of dreams and illusions has been wandering through the sign of Pisces since April of 2011. Neptune is the modern ruler of Pisces and it represents the realm of our soul, dreams and imagination, our spiritual values, and our journey to universal dissolution. Since then, we have been living in a somewhat nebulous reality, wherefore we have been embroiled in constant questioning of our values and social conduct, facing a great number of moral dilemmas.

When the nebulous and illusionary Neptune acts through the imaginative and confusing sign of Pisces, what we have is an intensification of the collective imaginary, which can lead to a subconscious fascination for fantastic and impressionable stories. Since 2016, a new concept known as Fake News spread itself throughout the internet and became a part of the social media news and political reality. During this time came the common realization that not everything we see or read is true, and that we are constantly subject to lies, tricks, and distortions.

Pisces also rules the realm of spirituality and religion, thus Neptune in Pisces in its darkest expression causes an intensification of the personal and collective subconscious and invisible desires, which can lead to drug abuse, alcoholism, and religious fanaticism. It was incidentally in 2011 when we began to occupy ourselves more than ever with the dangers of religious extremism. Conjointly, the past 10 years were marked by notorious events with a moral and religious background, such as the Arab Spring and a series of wars in the Middle East.

Furthermore, Neptune rules the immune system. A negative aspect or expression of this planet can lead to the weakening of the lymph gland system (responsible for our immune response). Neptune deals with invisible forces, hence it also represents viruses. Therefore it is not surprising that the journey of Neptune through Pisces holds the potential for a Pandemic outbreak, thus it can be seen as the astrological protagonist of the Corona-Virus crisis.

Pisces also has to do with our inner world and collective consciousness, and Neptune in this sign gives us the opportunity to look into our personal and societal values and visions. Consequently, what we have seen is a big wave of moral and ethical discussions on controversial topics such as the drug, prison, and abortion debate. As Pisces rules our life principles, this period of Neptune in Pisces represents a time of profound abstract investigation, and this can lead to an extended universal existential crisis, because of the constant life questioning.

On the bright side of Neptune's expression lies the movement toward spiritual enlightenment and a harmonious relationship between man and nature. Thus what we have seen in the last years is an ongoing inclination towards meditation and yoga, as well as nature-friendly habits such as veganism, vegetarianism, and a persistent battle for better animal treatment and natural preservation. Pisces represents the realization and longing for oneness and integration, not only of mankind but of the living cosmos as a whole.

Moreover, Neptune has to do with the divine principles of forgiveness and compassion. Alongside the expansion of social media lies the increasing exposure of our lives and bodies on the internet, which inevitably leads to the susceptibility to judgment and comparison. However, the integration principles represented by Pisces are now heightened in the collective consciousness and therefore we have seen an inspiring fight for acceptance of others as they are and the aim for compassion towards the suffering of mankind and one another.

In conclusion, until 2026 Neptune in Pisces will dissolve established convictions, making us realize once more about the fragility and uncertainty of life. We will have to recognize the infirmity of reality and absorb ourselves more than ever in our personal world, fighting invisible enemies and letting go of misconceptions and entrenched conditionings. Nevertheless, Neptune in Pisces brings us the beautiful awareness of oneness, the desire for absolution, and the potential for the universal union.
