“If Man is aware what Nature grants him, He will appreciate Her sincerely.”

Our ignorance of ecosystem, ruins our life.

Most of us are still ignoring, intentionally or unintentionally, the harms we commit against our vital natural environment. The facts I affirm in this story are recognized by many before, but writers and activists should always remind humanity of the damages and dangers they execute versus their energetic ecosystem.

The environment mainly consists of the earth and its surroundings which include the atmosphere. The life of man here on earth completely depends on the natural environment for its existence. It is from the environment that man ultimately obtains his essential needs as food, water, materials, tools, machines and even cash.

“Our task must be to free ourselves…by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty.”

Albert Einstein

Dependence of man on the environment is crucial.

The dependence of man on the environment is crucial as the it provides us with every basic necessity of life such as energy, power, shelter as well as relative climactic constancy (WHO 2005). Ecosystems are the planet’s — and man’s — life support system (2005). A clean, safe, and healthy earth and environment can provide man with a clean, safe, and healthy life on earth, but the present worsening condition of the environment means trouble not only for us living in the world today but for generations to come as well.

Every single species on earth is related to one another — either directly or indirectly — with a plethora of other species in the ecosystem- Plants provide us with food to eat, refuge from the rougher elements of nature, and nesting locations for thousands of living things- In the case of plants, they most often rely upon animals for assistance in their reproduction process (e.g., bees pollinate bur flowers} as well as for specific nutrients like minerals in animal waste products {Rutherford 9 Ahlgren 1991}. All animals make up a complex food web that consists of plants and animals of other species and, in some cases, the same species. The predator/prey bond is common, with its offensive tools for predators — for example, teeth, claws, beats, and venom, and its defensive tools for prey — for example, camouflage to hide from predators, speed to flee the scene if that camouflage does not work, spines to threaten when danger is near, and annoying substances to use as a last resort to fend off prey. There are a number of certain species that come to depend very intimately en others (for example pandas and koalas can only eat a certain species of trees}. Some species have become so well adapted to each other that neither could survive without the other (for example, the wasps that nest only in figs and are the only insect that can pollinate them}. Many of us do not realize new complex these systems are and that if one species is taken away, another may die because of it, and then another, and another… Eventually, it will be the humans who will go because of the fact that we rely indirectly on these species that make up our great ecosystems and give us all of the elements for a happy and healthy life on earth.

“Come forth into the light of things, Let Nature be your teacher.”
William Wordsworth

“Nature never did betray
The heart that loved her.”
William Wordsworth

Comforts in our homes is a mirage without faultless ecosystems.

For those individuals who live in comfortable urban homes, taking for granted the ecosystems is a common thing. Many will assume that good health has to do with the decisions that they made as consumers — what food they pick out at the grocery store, what vitamins to take, what doctor to see in their PPO plan, etc.; however, this is ignoring the role of the natural environment and the plethora of ecosystems that allow them to have good health, economic abundance, social organization, and built environment — and, in general, life itself {WHO 2005].

We must consider the important relationships between organisms to understand our own dependence on our environment. One example is how parasites get their nourishment from their host organisms, oftentimes with negative consequences for the hosts {Rutherfclrd & Ahlgren 1991 ). Scavenger animals feed only on dead animals and plants- There are some organisms that have symbolic relationships — like the bees that drink nectar from flowers and incidentally carry pollen from one flower td the next, or the bacteria that live in our own intestines and incidentally synthesize some vitamins and protect intestinal lining form germs. knowing these facts, we cannot assume that good health and constant environments come from bur prudent behaviors [WHO 2005) (such as buying the most expensive tofu or buying the real as opposed td generic brand of vitamins), but rather form these delicate ecosystems that make up our total environment. So to appreciate the nature and value of ecosystems services we need, we must understand how delicate they are.

Nature is rich with harmless alternatives that supply us with our needs, but we damage them day after day.

Actually seventy percent of the earth’s surface is covered by water but due to man’s activities; both domestic and industrial, most of this water is polluted. Actually it is true that out of all this waters covering the earth’s surface only 0.02% of this water is fresh. So as to control the impacts of water pollution which are hazardous to both human and marine life; several world environmental bodies have come up with lawfully regulated water quality laws based on its desired use. Changing the water sources designated purpose affects the allowed pollution levels in various ways. First one has to reason about the divergence between water for human consumption and water meant for agricultural usage such as irrigation or industrial utilization. This various water uses will require variable water quality standards. Water quality is observed by the water characteristics which may be biological, physical or even biological. Most frequently there are set reference of standards to assess the compliance of the water. The most used standards to determine water quality relate to water used for domestic purposes such as drinking and cooking, wellbeing of humans who get in touch with it and the safety of the marine life. A person contributes to water pollution when you flush a toilet, pour dirty water down the sink you are using water which has to be purified in a water treatment plant. Many countries do not have water treatment plants and merely pump the raw waste into the rivers or sea. Also agricultural runoff water which contains high amounts of washed off pesticides and fertilizer enter the rivers and streams resulting to pollution and distressing the local plant and marine wildlife.

Adopt the pace of nature. Her secret is patience.

There are numerous benefits of the wind energy. First wind energy is clean and wind turbines generate electricity that does not release pollutants as compared to other energy sources. This means less environmental pollution thus combating with occurrence of environmental hazards such as acid rain and smog amongst others. Power plants contribute to air pollution by emitting a large amount of carbon dioxide, nitrous oxides and sculpture dioxide resulting to global warming- this can be avoided by utilizing wind energy. In addition wind energy is renewable and has the less competitive cost as compared to the other sources such as natural gas. Also wind is readily available and it is in abundance thus it will not result to exhaustion of natural resources in the world. Moreover wind energy plants have a short construction period, involve minimal maintenance and require low operating costs as compared to the traditional power sources. Lastly wind power plants are very reliable as they generate electricity all the time and are not affected by international conflicts making it defiant to supply troubles or price fluctuations (Global Wind report, 2008).
